Hey, I have a SS v8 and just did a diagnistic's check and came up with code 72.... "Vehicle Speed sensor" What exactly does it do and effect... Is it a major problem that needs attension asap ?

its not really that important because it gets the wrong readings if you take corners too fast and sharp but is all good when moving in a relatively straight line or normal driving....its mainly for the ABS to tell the brakes when and how much to grab

Thank you boona15, As long as thats all it is... My brakes arnt gonna **** them selves on me next time im in a hurry to stop are they ? :unsure:

get it checked with tech 1 to see how fast they are moving to be sure anyway......

hm, im not quiet sure but aparently the speed sensors play up if the wheels are too big or some thing so i wouldnt really worry about it, correct me if im rong anyone

I get the same code and I have a VR V6 without ABS and with 16in wheels

Isn't the Vehicle Speed Sensor the thing that provides information to the dash, and speedo in particular, with the Pulse per Kilometre etc, so the speedo shows the correct reading?
