[VIC] Commodore Diff questions

Hi can any one help.

I have been told that mid way through the VK build range the Borg warner diff was used in the V8 build ?? (the VL Type)
Please let me know if this is true or false


Also whats the easy way to pick the small diff from the big diff ?

i know the big 10 bolt salisbury has an egg shaped (for lack of a better word) backing plate with 10 bolts holding it on whereas the borg warner has a more circular backing plate with 9 bolts. after looking at pics of both diffs, say on ebay or wherever u will be able to tell the difference.

the small salisbury has an 8 bolt backing plate apparently but since the banjo diff centres are interchangable i wouldn't be getting one of them in a hurry
