But then again it a 2ton car.
I Never go above 3500 revs. Lol

Hmm I wonder if running on LPG has an effect on this reading???

Well when i cruise it, i try to take it no more then 2200 revs if i can.

Just updating thread. Not a heep of driving done, but consisted of mainly free flowing driving, alot of highway driving, but mixed up with alot of 60km/h to 70km/h speed.

372.35km distance, 31.61L used, avg speed of 60.5km/h and a avg of 8.5L per 100km
6 hours and 10 mins of driving. No thrashing done at all.

That's pretty good guys, doing very well unlike me now at 16L @ 32km/h.
I'm getting 3.9 diff gears put in today, I wonder if it will increase the fuel consumption or decrease it.

Yes it revs higher which means more fuel consumed but on the other hand less stress on the engine and trans to get it up of the line which means less fuel. Hmmmmm which one will it be?

741.69 km traveled, avg speed of 50km/h with 9.7l per 100km
also 72.59L used and 14 hours and 52 minutes of driving.
Thats all driving done in every type of traffic and roads you can think of.

Currently on 13.0L/100km at 58.4kph average speed in 6 Litre VZ SS manual

I`m getting between 9.8-10.0l/100km on highway, around town is hard to pin down but 14-15l/100km seems the norm. Have only had it a month so it`s still a new toy. But should settle down soon now with MCAI and 2 hole mod and K and N Filter fitted.

VZ SS 6.0l Auto 52,000km on clock! With MCAI 2 hole mod and K and N filter(only in the last week)

Yeah nice. Mine is a manual so I should be a bit lower than you, depending on how I drive ofcourse ;)

The lowest I've had is 8.4 whilst driving to Castlemaine

Including all the mods i have done to my car (quite an extensive list) mine will drop to roughly 6.2-7.2l/100km on the highway @ 110kph and around town/cruising 11-12l/100km
Average speed is 69.3kph although i do quite a lot of highway driving. It is an auto with the standard diff gears so i'm guessing with whats done to the car plus the standard final drive ratio is why my fuel consumption is so low.
As for op's question about diff gears. For sustained hwy driving you consumption will go up due to the higher revs, obviously. However stop start driving around town should drop your consumption so it all balances out in the end hopefully...lol
