There's also a chance someone is trying to sell you a big load of BS.
Did you see what colour coolant was in it when you bought the car?
It's true some dinosaur's still think that green coolant is better than the new red stuff, or can't be bothered or don't care and just use whatever they have in the shed. But to say you need a new cooling system all at once always sounds very suss.

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
I’d be going to someone else. Yet another business trying to recoup costs of lost business during Covid.

It’s supposed to have red coolant.

If a full system repair is needed they’d be removing the gear box and changing the thermostat. They’d be changing the coolant sensor. They’d be able to charge thousands epending on how far they want to go.

The o-rings and pump are a cheap easy repair.

Do yourself a HUGE favor O/P and dump the oil in the sump as you I guess have no idea what's in there.
If you got to read the books with the car properly they need 5-30 oil, and I would suggest synthetic is the best to use.
These engines are a VERY good hi-tech DOHC and will sludge up using the incorrect oil, and cause serious problems.
