my first incling would be that your car's a broken down death trap, which appears to be leaking either LPG or petrol from a hose somewhere in your engine bay, where it's igniting on the extractors.
If you value your life (or the flammable components within your engine bay) i suggest you attend to the problem post haste! Keeping a fire extinguisher at hand might be an idea too.
What sort of damage did it do to the engine bay? What parts of it were burnt?
