You like someone else on this forum have a very limited understanding of politics. Socialist US media, have you ever heard of of Rupert Murdoch? He owns amongst other papers the New York Times. I have never heard of anyone referring to Murdoch as a socialist. He would laugh at the suggestion. Just because after years of supporting Trump the US papers turning on him for his constant lying does not make them socialists.

Democratic Socialism has always been communism not some latter day change of name. Social democrats perhaps and that is only a slight shade of pink. In some ways the Australian Labor party is a social democrat party.

Name some of the policies of The US Democrat party that are socialist

It is simplistic to brand anything you do not agree with in politics as communist or socialist. Perhaps a study of political parties and their policies would help rather than this diatribe you constantly write.

I don’t get why certain people seem to think that every socialist program or every time the government is involved in something its automatically communist.

Government is a prerequisite of a civilised society and there is plenty of things where it’s preferable for the government to be involved or for it to be government controlled. A few I can name are healthcare, electricity networks, telecommunications networks, road infrastructure, I’m sure there are plenty of others.

Everyone needs to realise that there are things the free market is good at and there are things that the government is good at. Any area without viable competitive competition needs to be either government controlled or severely regulated as natural monopolies in the hands of private entities rarely turns out well for the people.

You’ve got no idea what totalitarianism is. Go to China and see how far you get with any kind of criticism of the government.

We have relative freedom in most western countries and to maintain this it’s not “the left“ you should be fighting. The left, right paradigm is a convenient tool to allow business interests and corrupt politicians on both sides to get away with murder.

Here in Australia it’s mostly the “Liberal” Government that’s famous for suppressing the truth and prosecuting whistleblowers and are as corrupt as the day is long but you’ll never hear about any of that from the MSM (aka Rupert Murdoch) because they prefer voters be kept dumb and stupid and fighting with each other instead of against business and government corruption. Divide and conquer and all that.
