Cutting muffler off

Hey there was wondering if cutting my back muffler off my VR calais v6 would sound alright or if anyone has done this and how they went???

If its the stock standard exhaust no it will sound like crap
If its a 2.5" No it will still sound like crap. If its the 2.5" You can take the rear section out and replace it with a straight through pipe.

I have pacies on it atm do you reckon just to get a 2.5" off ebay or what ??
