Did the US ever share the 90 - 95 V6 Buick engine?

Trying to see if i can track does a rear main plate and hoping I might find one in the States. Just don't know what cars over there would have shared the VR V6, if any even did?

Could turn into a bit of a needle/haystack operation.
Here's the wiki for the donk... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_V6_engine
Seems some were used side-saddle for FWD and therefore probably wouldn't suit. Dunno if the others are like old Ford Twin-spinner flatheads (the starter was on other side in US models than Aussie ones and therefore US sourced backplates had to be chopped up and welded to fit).

The early Buicks used in the VN were actually Saginaw made engines and had the the Saginaw name in the casting. I wouldn't think there were too many changes made at the Aussie end when they started producing them here.

Oh and BTW my above post with the wiki link in it was done at the same time as UTEO42_NZ and thus why the duplication occurred.

Thanks for that. Found a 95 3.8V6 on an Oldsmobile Achieva and the part I apparently need can not be purchased new. I am now of the belief the info on the JC forum is incorrect about replacing the plate as they have never been available as a spare part.

Please consider this thread as solved. Mods please feel free to close this thread to further replies.

For future reference,

VN s1 engine is the LN3 fairly much identical. TheVN II/ VP uses the L27 long block but with a aussie specific intake manifold which is based on the LN3 manifold but with the thermostat at the front.
