Diff gears

Was under the car the other day when it was getting serviced and noticed it has 3.7s in the diff from factory. When did this change happen? No wonder it hauls off the line !!

i believe it was changed for the vz but i could be wrong.

what does the 190 run? Same as 175?

190 has like 2.8 diff gears in the manual !!

Please explain diff gears to me..... compare my diff gears to yours please.

Well for an example if you have 3.08 gears in the diff, and you changed them to 4.11, your car would be much quicker off the line... the downside is it revs higher all the time so you use more fuel ie with the 3.08s doing 100 in 5th you might be on 2500rpm and with the 4.11s you might be on 3500rpm. (not accurate figures just rough guide)

another variable is the gear ratios in your gearbox which can change everything again...

Well not really they do the job but if you wanted to go faster you could say put in 3.45s
