2001 V6 COMMODORE
Hey guys just wondering I am looking at changing my diff from standard to lsd 3.9 but was wondering if it is only the centre spleen or whole casing that needs changing

looks like the outer casings are the same

rebuilds/conversions are big $$

other option buy a s/h lsd diff whole and fit

get a truetrac centre to avoid the disappointment of it single pegging after a couple of months.

Best option is to buy a whole new diff from a V8. Then fit it yourself or get a mechanic to do it, shouldn't cost too much. I also wouldn't put a 3.9 in an auto or you'll be revving quite high on the freeway. I'd go 3.45 or 3.73 at a stretch.
