Difference between LS1 and LS2?

Apart from the cubes, what's the difference? Is the LS2 just a bored out LS1?

No it's a totally different engine with alot more torque down low.

as I understand it, its just bored out...

the torque down low doesn't mean it's a different engine.

Arent HSV saying that 90% of the torque in the LS2 is available from initial acceleration?

Its basically the same motor.. the cylinder heads were bored out from.99 to 101.7 thus getting the exrea .3 of a litre.
And you get 89% of tourqe from 10 precent throttle initially.
You can trace this small block back to 1955 (not alloy of course :)

they bored out the heads?? bores maybe?
