Just adding this post as a repeat so people can search for it more easily.
I found out a few checks you can do yourself on the VK Calais Dash.
On the transducer the smaller cylindrical metal part that screws into the module that is screwed to the shock tower. (Note you also screw the speedo cable into the module that you screw to the fire shock tower.)
The transducer has 3 wires, a Pulse wire, a Ground Wire and a Ignition(power) wire.
On the ground wire with the ignition turned off place the black probe of your multimeter(set to test 20 ohms) on the negative battery terminal and the positive to the ground wire, your resistance should be less than 20 ohms or you are not getting a good enough ground.
If not clean up your contacts back to ground.
On the Ignition (power) with the ignition on test the DC volts to make sure you are getting good voltage.
On the Pulse wire have your red probe on this wire and the black to ground and rotate the the end of the transducer fitting(like end of speedo cable square section) slowly the voltage should change from 0 to 5 volts and back again as you rotate the end.
Also you can attach the end of this to an electric drill and rotate it at speed to see if your speedo works for a check.
Hope this helps someone.
Cheers,
