your speed alert can be set to display speed digitally

yeah, but not permenatly in the vr ii. have to redo it everytime i start up, plus i want sumthing with a bigger display

Might be worth looking at some of the import cars as some of them have a HUD (Heads up display) that can be adapted to suit the delco managment system.

Have you tried holding all buttons on the speed alert while turning on the ignition, and keep holding them til the light stops flashing? I know my car used to revert back to normal speed alert til I used this method.
