Just wondering if the only difference between the distributors on the 5l were the plugs for the harness on them?

So, if I buy a dizzy that has a different plug to the one in my 90 VQ, can I just change the plug on the harness and it will be all good?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the hall effect sensor is different for VS series 3 and VT compared to vn-vs series 2.
VS series 3 and VT have sequential injection and have different dizzy's
not sure if there's other differences as well as what i've said.

Because, the car is over 20 years old, and it's not often new OEM parts are available

So, Vn-Vr were all the same, just a different plug?

Thanks

... the 800 dissy only suits VN and early VP. VP late to VS uses dissy with last 3 digits 801. A simple adaptor cable converts the early to the later one. VT V8 series 1 is different again.

Ok cool, so if an adapter cable can be used then it means only the plugs are different.

Where did you get your new one from? And how much? Is it new or reco?
