Hi PPL,

Can someone shed some light on this.....
A bloke on Egay was selling some VX clubby Headers ( Genuine ),
So I said to myself....Self ring HSV ( My local dealer ) and see what a new set cost.

Well bugga me he reckons that the VX clubby's came out with the stock ten ton cast iron manifolds
and that Headers were not released on the Clubby's from standard.

OK... who's telling porky pies... Egay or my local HSV dealer.

Cheers, Merc

The only LS engine HSV to come with cast iron headers was and is the VZ series all others had Stainless steel short 4into1's.
The VT-VY1 incl all 300kw motors (VT-VY2) had 1 5/8"-41mm primaries and 2 1/4"-57mm secondary pipes.

The 285kw VY2 had 1 3/4"-44mm primaries and 2 1/2"-64mm secondary and these are the best ones to get, almost as good as aftermarket headers.

Ok well one of my mates was ripped off and the other got a better deal then because his vx clubsport that he brought of a holden dealer 2nd hand only has cast iron manifolds(was looking at it on the weekend) and was told that it hadnt been modified.(well someone at some stage had change the headers if they didnt come with cast jobbies) And my other mate has a vy with s/s tri ys brought off a holden dealer told it was bog stock too. so there just the examples i was going off.

There are plenty of fake and modified HSV cars getting around advertised as unmodified stockers.
We need to be on guard and do lots of homework before handing over the folding stuff.
