vt berlina wagon
hi guys
i am looking for advice again
i have a vt v6 wagon with a tired engine 288 ,000
and i have a damaged parts car vt calais with 160,000 klm on it
what i need advice on is it easier to drop the whole sub frame assembly
and swap them over, as i would eventally would have changed over the suspension any way
also is the rear frame assembly the same between sedan and wagon ?
thanks
ian

Have you got something to lift the front of the car up once you drop the whole sub frame? Might be easier to just lift the motor out and not worry about the K-Frame as they are the same. I wouldn't put the Suspension from the Calais into your wagon, I would just go new. Having a 160,000k's on it, no doubt the struts would be due for new ones. Not unless of course they are new.

As for the rear frame, are you referring to the Diff or the Gearbox Sub-Frame?

Lifting an engine out is alot cleaner and neater than dropping the subframe generally speaking. Suspension can be easiest done on its own after you've got the new motor in and sorted.

Not sure if the rear diff cradle is the same between the Sedan and Wagon ( I would think that they are)
