The usual air intake, extractors, big bore exhaust and tune for starters then u can get hi ratio rockers, mace manifold spacers/ insulators, can do an aftermarket cam if u had the budget for it

1. New oil and filter, hi-flow filter for airbox. $100 all up.
2. Headers & catback exhaust. $750
3. MACE 1.9:1 rockers. $500
4. MACE Memcal. $140
5. Intake spacer. $200

That will see a decent gain on torque through the range and response as well. For 150kW stock, you might see an increase of up to 15%, or around 170kW. You will get a few more kW with the intake spacer, but mostly just less heatsoak from the engine.

For the same money though, about $1700, you could probably find a supercharged V6 and install it. You will obviously have a few other costs but will end up with a fair bit more power for not much more.

Cheers - boingk

You need to specify what *your* budget is cos everyone's got a different one.

Comments on thread already are solid to get it 'upgraded' to go like it should in the first place. It'll make it go right but no rocket. A short diff will give it more pickup but if you're in the country (like me) leave it long cos there's no stop/start and the longer legs are good for country economy. Highway speed at low revs gives longer engine life on country kays.

Plus, possibly more importantly, fitting a new diff can be a complete b@stard of a job. I prefer to leave it in second gear while on a set of tight twisty roads, upshift to 3rd if needed on the straights. You'll feel a lot better communication between you and the car driving like this, even with the standard diff ratio. Think yourself lucky, a lot of Fords have a 2.73 read end... yuck!
