Coming up 60k km on the rsv and I've recently had the engine light come.

When i switch on the car occasionally now it will run seemingly normal with the engine light illuminated. But otherwise the car will run in what seems to be a reduced power mode. The D on the dash will flash when I first accelerate and the car will initially splutter before it will run roughly and stay in a single gear, not changing gears at any stage, regardless of the speed. Cruise won't work, nor will manual mode)

Frustratingly I've taken the car 3 times to my local so called Holden dealer where I get the car serviced and apparently they cant get the car to enter into the reduced power mode. Of course each time I collect the car it goes straight into the mode.

They keep telling me they clear the codes and that I needed a new battery. which has made no difference.

seeing as they have taken no initiative to problem solve, thought I would see if anyone here has some guidance.

its going into "limp mode" which a self protection system

if they are telling you they are "clearing the codes" then it looks like they are not interested in solving your issue because those codes are telling them what is wrong and they are just clearing them.

you will need to take it to a proper mechanic.
the codes should provide some direction to what is causing the issue.

Thank.you.. that's what I suspected.

Being under warranty and a holden dealer I presumed they would be of assistance.

Will take it to the dealer I bought it from and hope for the best

End up getting a full transmission replacement.

Apparently they found metal shavings inside. Eg the sensor deteriorated.
