Same thing happened to mine. Inside the gear box are the cylindrical teeth attached to a long arm. You probably cracked this. It can be replaced with a H/D part for about $700, but most mechanics dont know much about gearboxes and will want to replace the whole gearbox. You will have to search around until you find someone who can just fix it.
I did mine accelerating to beat traffic. The guys said sudden acceleration usually does it.

Def the gearbox, had the same happen on one of mine. Doesn't sound like a solenoid though. Usually if it's the solenoid you will just not have first gear and it will rarely change, and when it does it hunts around gears. But 320$ seems a bit steep if its the solenoid I'm thinking, is it one of the two towards the back of the transmission? I replaced those for about 50$ each solenoid (as in a brand new solenoid cost me about 50$ each), all you need to do it drop the pan, unclip the solenoid wire and the clip, and put the new one in if its the one i'm thinking about but don't hold me to that. But doubt it's just the solenoid. That code always comes up when I destroy trans whether its the clutch packs strips or other things. Usually that code is just the tip of the ice berg. Just my two cents.

True i just got a reconditioned gear bow but in like 5 months ago that sucks

I would take it back to them, get them to sort it out, should last longer than 5 months
