Just an update.

I've installed a new battery, century recommended one, new starter motor (again), still makes the grind when cold. Colder it is, the worse it gets (it's only when the temp is cold, I can start the car fine in the morning if it's been sitting in the sun for like 15 minutes or so). It sounds like the starter motor cog isn't going back in when it should, but I'm stumped to as why.

Sounds like cam actuators. Cold start engine and get someone to listen at front of engine just below rocker covers.

It's a fully refurbished engine, should this be a problem considering everything was brand new in it ? And the fact I was having the same problem with the previous engine makes me think it's not the motor. But I'll have a listen

Shouldn't but refurbished not always same as new.
