every now and again when stopped at lights my engine will give a slight shudder for less than about three seconds. The only way I can describe it is like when people shudder for no reason (cold maybe) and it is said that "somebody must have just walked on my grave". Is this normal? Any idea what causes it.

From left field might be ur climate control rengaging the air con compressor which causes the revs to drop ....

Mine used to do it too. Just a slight rough idle from time to time like it slightly misses for a second or two. Didn't matter if a/c was on or not.

I have to say I haven't noticed it since i did the intake and exhaust tho.

My VZ 175kw does the same thing I don't bother about it, only if the engine falls out.

Wasn't there a problem with the engine mount bolts coming loose? I'm sure Holden did a recall on them because of this, a mate had one and I think that was his problem. I know the VE he just got had to get a bolt put in the rack mount because they left it out.

Mine wasn't a constant thing tho. It just 'misses a beat' from time to time.

Like an idling inconsistency

As said in another post, it may be faulty coils. Dr Bob mentioned that in the other post.

I reckon it was summed up above - the AC compressor "catching up" when the revs drop to idle. The Alloytec idles a lot lower rpm than previous V6s - mine does this only on real hot days with the AC running. Doesn't bother me.
