VF MY17 Series 2 Redline - Red Hot
Hi everyone,

I've got a MY17 Redline sedan and over the last few days it's started to throw up the following errors on the dash:

- ESP
- Service ESP
- Park Assist temporarily unavailable
- Park Assist Off

I got the codes scanned today and so far have:

U0140 - Lost Communication with BCM
U0155 - lost communication with instrument Cluster
U0254 - lost comms with remote start module
U0415 - invalid data received from electronic brake control module
U0428 - invalid data received from Steering wheel Angle Sensor module
U0232 - lost comms with side object detection control module left
U0233 - lost comms with side object detection control module right
U0158 - lost comms with Heads up display

The car was serviced only a few weeks ago and seems to be running fine and the battery is only about a year old.

Any suggestions where to start before I book it in to a Holden dealer and hand over a kidney or two would be appreciated.

Cheers

That soiree of errors would point to a power loss issue, it may not be the battery but its worth getting tested along with alternator output

You don't need a dealer, most battery places will load and output test for free

I'd say 158, 232, 233 and maybe 155 are new as the heads up display wasn't working properly today and the same with parking assist as I lost all sensors and parking grid lines.

140, 155, 415 and 428 I have no idea about.

I reckon … do the battery test, replace if relevant, get everything cleared … and then you’ll have dealt with the most obvious cause (Occam’s Razor having said that means it’s the most likely action to fix the problems) & if you need to you can pursue any real ongoing problems.

These are the four error messages coming up on the dash.

they are all communication errors so i would start with getting the battery tested or replacing it.
just because it is only a year old does not mean it has not dropped a cell.

I would pull the earth/neg lead off the battery for 15 mins first.. before anything else

I have found that a panacea to many a thrown / reprted/shown error code but ....

if any of the codes happen again then start proper testing .... battery, alternator output,
earths, lead connections etc
