it'll have more power still, but maybe not quite as much acceleration as you would have with the resonator as you lose torque due to less back pressure

hmm..... i know this is slightly off the subject! but kinda relevant!

i got the stock exhaust which i spose is like 2n1/4 i stripped the cat and took off the middle exhaust!

now it sounds tingy as a mofo!! its pissin me right off!!

insted of putting the cat back on, should i weld a steal pipe straight up the middle?
will this stop the tingy tune?? or should i just cat another cat and rip off the end exhaust?(looks like a hotdog or something)

straight through!!

lol. thought that was obvious.....
it makes a tingy type noise with the stripped cat im assuming as it circulates and doesnt have a clear passage, aswell as it is tinging on the aluminium sides.

where as the straight pipe wouldnt ting...
i dont think!!!

i would only weld the pipe inside it as im sure its illegal to have no cat!

you need to put the middle muffler back on as the end one is actually a resonator. you can remove the end one and leave the middle one on legally. as for the cat you can get caught if someone decides to do an emissions test and puts a sensor up your tailpipe.
