I dont think anybody has dared mention the fast and the furious, and the fast and furious tokyo drift ,I thought the ricers would has been bragging about how much meaner a fastback mustang was with a rice motor , ( it brough tears to my eyes it is the ultimate form of classic car abuse) these should be classed as some the wanky car movies though

I'll just stay quiet in the corner then i guess....

Grand Prix (1966)
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=iw-MPf4GUU0
The golden age of GP racing, it never got better than that
Le Mans (1971)
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=sowtkmG635E
Bullitt (1968) (car scene only)
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=GMc2RdFuOxI
That's the complete chase incase any youngins haven't seen it

And I also quite liked the Cars movie :p. But Grand Prix and Le Mans are both massivly epic huge budget movies, There's also a few motorbike movies I like, Crossing the Line (1989) was pretty classic and Silver Dream Racer (1980) http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=yk6sW749jwg&feature=related has some good scenes from 1970s GP racing bikes early on, if you are into the classic 2 stokes.

There's another motorcross movie with some girl that rides a RM 250 that was good too :0, kinda a BMX bandits style movie. Running on Empty isn't a very well made movie really but it's Australian to the core and that makes it special :), it reminds me of Mack everytime, 14.6..... 14.6!

VS Senator
I know its not really a car film, but The Transporter has some awesome driving scenes, as does Crank.

If you ever get a chance/manage to find it, 'MARK II' Its about 3 young maori boys touring NZ in their MARK II Zephyr. made in 80's
