get a 5-speed VN/VP.. even a 5-speed VL. both will be more than quick enough for what you need from a first car. You'd be able to get a better VL for 3 grand than a VN though i'd say. good luck

u can get a good vn for 2 grand. thats what i paid in 2005 for a manual vn 1988 and in 2000 for 1990 vn manual. just got to keep ya eyes open

Hey, ive got the same problem turning 18 in August and DEFINETLY looking for a VL. Either being VL-Turbo in auto, or a straight VL in Manual as i can drive manual just fine and i dont mind have a auto if its Turbo.
What would be the best recomondation and what prices would i be looking at?
Haha, another question, is a VLT even legal for a Victorian P Plater?

Yeah once you learn how to drive a manual, get a 5 Speed VL.:thumbsup:
After driving one, you wont go near a Auto. (Unless for obvious reasons )
RB26DETT: My mate bought a VS for $2000, but it blew up a couple of days after he had it and he had to replace the gearbox. It's good now, but you can tell he's spent alot of money on it.
