Fit 304 to VX ute

I know it's a "what the hell?" type question, but has anybody ever done this? What's involved? Does a 304 fit a 3.8 ecotec sub-frame? Or do the sub-frames need to be swapped/modified?

VX Ute lol. Anyway, it can be done however it won't be legal. 304 was never fitted to VU Ute. Would have to get it engineered and get the 304 to meet VU factory emissions. Not worth it if you ask me

ah ha, but i'm in NZ, it's all low volume cert over here. Not quite as hard to do these conversions as it is in Aust

But would explain why there's no info in the forum about such a swap

A 304 in the VU will be no faster than an Ecotec in the VU.

It'll just make more noise.

Ls1's cost bloody shitloads here, whereas there's 304's to be had a-plenty.

I personally don't agree with the "more noise" statement. Wouldn't have another V6 for a wort on my ass. But this thread isn't about which motor is better, just whether on not it's possible

I realise a VT is the most logical because there isn't one of those readily available
