Fitting a T56 g/b from VZ to a VE L98...?

Hey guys

Just wondering if anyone has ever done or heard of someone fitting a T56 g/b to a VE L98 engine? The reason is being availability and cost. Any help would be awesome.

shifter is different

the prices are generally the same for the 6 speed vt-vz and the ve 6 speed, ive seen complete units sell for less then $1500 bucks on ebay for both types.

but no it wont fit, as above its a different shifter style and box is different lengths.

As far as im aware the ve t56 is the same length as the vt-vz t56... Only the t6060 is different.
