Well when you hit the south easter and the HOLDEN dealer forgets to bleed the system and your temp gauge goes ballistic, the engine light comes on, coolant sprays everywhere, adn you grind to a halt. That's a **** up!

Actually when you see how the pro's do it.....It's more like open heart surgery when they unhook the hoses and attach a Backflush machine...it does look kinda like clapping the viens up on a patient...LOL

Take off bottom hose. Turn on heater.. Take off top hose.. Hose in the radiator until clear comes out the bottom.

Same with the engine. Bottom Hose back on, add coolant.. Top Hose back on.. Add water.. Bleed.. Done.

you can generaly mix all the green anti corrosion, but definately don't mix it with the red as an acid action can occur.

Ok well I know how to turn the heater on, no idea what hoses to disconnect though, and wouldn't know unless someone was there that knew what they were doing so may aswell leave it to the mechanic.

*UPDATE*

For anyone who was interested I got a quote from our mechanic for a full radiator clean/flush and replacement of coolant for $85, and will be booked in within the week.

Cheers, Killer
