Is it a big deal forgetting the sump washer? Is it worth draining it again and putting the sump washer back on?

Cheers..

u dont need to drain it..... just take the plug out and stick ur finger over the hole (make sure the car is WAY COLD) then with spare hand put washer onto plug and replace, ull spill minimal oil if ur quick enough!

won't the oil pressure (force at which the oil is bursting out of the little sump) be too great for me to chuck the new plug in and thread it?

Is it leaking?
If it is, put the washer in, if not, leave it till next service and use this as a lesson! :)

The only pressure involved is the weight of the oil in the sump itself and of course the force of gravity.

Oil will run from the sump when you remove the bolt/plug but not with any dangerous force. More like a running sink tap so be be quick to put your finger over the hole while you fit the washer and be quick to put the sump bolt/plug back in.
