Just wanna add my 2 cents.
I found this thread after i thought the piston was stuck on the rear of a vx i did brakes on. I wanted to check if it screwed in like a 2000ish astra.
i had the proper caliper tool and the piston wouldnt budge but after seeing a pic on this site and copying the piston went in with ease.
the trick was to slide the 2nd part of the caliper completely off. This allows u to put pressure in the centre of the piston whereas earlier i was on the edge. I then used an old brake pad and a G clamp although the tool i had wouldve worked the same....i used it on the other side of the car. So yeh, pressure in the middle makes a HUGE difference!
