Engine not breathing and/ or blow by/hole in pistons causing pressure build up in the sump. ??
I saw a similar thing in a HK 253 years ago.
Cannot remember the exact occurrence but a radiator cap had been fitted to the rocker cover where there should have been a breather, so the engine was not breathing and oil started to get hot and in turn made the engine overheat which in turn virtually boiled the oil and built up pressure in the sump.
Whenever fitting a new seal I always use Locktite #3 gasket goo.
Been using it since the 60's
