vn struts go straight in.
it's the first thing i do and then change to a vn swaybar and then use a balljoint type link pin assy.
there's a $40 kit on ebay for the link pins with ball joints either end atm. (overcomes the issue of bushes loading up against eachother and splitting.
Only difference between vn/vp/vg/vq struts to early is the extra bracket for link pins.
People have talked about trying to retrofit vr/vs struts in but have had issues with the diameter of the shock shaft being too thick to bolt a vb-vp strut top onto. There might be a way around that if you're good at being a machinist.
