Fuel Problem need help

Help.... I have a VL commodore wagon. It ran absolutely beautifully until I put it in for a service. After that I had to replace the injectors as 3 of them were buggered and yet my problem is still there. My problem is that I cant accelerate properly now as it just billows out black smoke and has crap power. Can anyone help me. The fuel guy told me that it could be my thermostat sensor telling the motor that it is running too cold so the car is pushing through too much fuel... does this sound right. I am at odds with the jap motor in it I only know the old grey and red motors not the Nissan 3.0 litres.
