Fuel usage rising

I’ve noticed that my vz exec is using abit more fuel than usual
I use almost 1/4 tank to go from Bathurst to orange I used to fill up once a week going to and from orange twice a day for 5 days but now I’m filling up more frequent I filled up on Thursday and today I’m already down to just under 1/4 tank left
Would changing the plugs fuel filter make any difference in fuel usage ? Not sure when they if at all have every been changed or is there other things I should do?

Are the services up to date on this car? How many ks on it?
I would start with the easy stuff like checking air filter, MAF, and spark plugs like you said. Oxygen sensors could be getting old too.

I do oil air oil filter and throttle body every 10000 that’s as far as serving ce goes been scared to go near the MAF and it’s got 230,000ks I noticed also when the cars running it is a little sluggish in the lower side of the Rpms and it smell a bit fumey at the rear when parked and idling

Most likely ur O2 sensors in your exhaust as for maf buy some maf cleaner from somewhere like super cheap auto, remove it spray it out and put it back on the car also I’d be replacing spark plugs and fuel filter if they haven’t been done

How many km's has your car travelled ? What is your servicing interval? What engine oil are you using ? Have you or anyone else who drives the vehicle changed their driving habits ?

Like I said 230000 ks oil is what ever the book says to use and I’m the only driver
