Car was 2 years old.....The whole left hand side was wiped out

Was a 4 cyl Centura...Mate bought it for the perfect interior

I towed it back and got some bits and pieces for my Centura, along with a nice holiday near Port Lincoln
good score on the centura, nice looking little old car, not the gutless 4 cyl

What ? you towed a wreck all the way from Port Lincoln, long way on a tow rope, would"t a trailer be much easier, less stress without 2 drivers

More fun towing with a rope that distance and not having another person steering the car....

First thing to get sold with that car was the diff gears.....

The motor and gearbox got sold to a Centura collector as a spare for one of their dailies....

My mates Centura got all the interior and he managed to get a picture of his Centura in the book, Great ideas in Motion....

I know...I have one with a 265, mild cam and 4 speed....

Only problem is, the left rear door now pops open when I accelerate....Not real nice

My cousin had a 265 and 4 speed in a Charger. At the time that thing went like stink. Love a good Hemi.

The test driver for CAL told CAL not to put a 265 into a Centura for sale to the general public, because they would kill themselves....Not to mention the fact the body twists so much with the torque of the 65's....

So they settled with a 245 as he biggest available engine for the for the general public to buy.....

Have the article in a book here over it all

Yep, it was always stopping that was the problem. Ask me how I know
Brakes were not a high priority for most Aussie car manufacturers of the era.

Chrysler were much the same right up until year 2000.
