Heya guys,

Need a bit of help please. Hopefully you will have more of a clue than me with this. My 6 yr old daughter wants a gameboy for christmas. So anyway I had a squiz at them today thinking I'd just go in and buy one. Only thing is I don't know which bloody one to buy. Theres like nintendo DS, advance and micro  I don't wanna screw up and get the wrong one, (6yr old girls are very unforgiving!)

So whats the current or best gameboy going around atm? I dont wanna buy some obselete piece of crap but I don't know if she needs something with one of those yuppy pen things with it. What gameboy do u guys recommend?

the ds is the newest most advanced gameboy out now...and the advance and the micro r exactly the same as each other, just different sizes...so the DS is probly the way to go.

yeah i'd say the ds is the winner

though you could sort of trick her into saying exactly what she wants

"Hey what would you say if i got you a gba [ameboy advanced]"

"no mum i want the tap screen one" [ DS, "Dual screen" ]

the question is if she is predictable to go with the flow like that and drop you the right answer. not knowing your daughter means i'll leave it up to you to decide if that approach is right.

good luck :)

mmm yeh true psp, or wait out a month and buy an xbox360 they get released in the USA in 5 days. Should hold out a month and buy one of them, could benefit the whole family with the media center capabilities.

Nintendo is more "kid friendly" the DS is the latest gameboy device from them although its not called gameboy anymore the DS is the current handheld platform and should be supported for a few years yet.

VS Commodore Omega
Nintendo DS = Better technology, better games, more $$$

Gameboy Advance Micro = is the latest "in" thing, fashion accessory, bloody small, need earphones to play it (doesn't have a speaker), games a lot cheaper, old generation though

No need to pay $300 for a Sony PSP for a six year old fellas :p

OK guys thanks for the help, I think I will buy her the DS. 1 more quick question....
Can the DS play the other gameboy type games or will it only take DS games? I seen a few gameboy advance games cheap on ebay that she'd love but no point in buying if they won't work.
