GDay, can anyone help me with a no spark issue?

I have a 84 VK SW with a black six cyl that has over time been converted back to a hot bloodied fire breathing red six cyl.
So pretty much all the original engine management sensors are not in use and would prefer to not use the EST setup, because it does not like the wet weather conditions causing it to malfunction alot. I only need the electronic ignition side of it? Is there another option? So I can drive it in the rain when I feel like it you could say....

pull the est fuse change the distributor to the HE1 electronic type
