VS Acclaim V6
when was the last service? when was the plugs n leads last changed?

is it only running rough when idling? on acceleration? or stopping?

it could be a number of things, but you need to provide more details.

About the rough Idle.... Check your Earth points. Clean them and retightened if needed.
(Another thing to do is get a wire and place it on the body and then alternator bracket and see if Idle goes back to normal. This is a direct test to see if you have a bad earth connection)

Have you cleaned your Throttle Body and your TPS?

Clicking noise.... Is it inside the car or coming from the Engine Bay?

I think he means any electrical type wire, you are checking the earth to/from the motor to the body/battery (bare metal not painted) is working properly. A bad earth can do strange things, more common than you would think as they are 20 years old now.

No random coolant loss lately?

Yeah sorry Moneypit is correct. Use any electrical wire. Have engine running and then place wire on. If Idle changes to a smooth Idle, then you have found your problem....hopefully.
