hard shift from 1st to 2nd

um. when i go from park [P] to drive [D] it doesnt go into gear so i have to move it down to [1] so it goes in.
then i can move it into [D].

Mate trust me there is only so much a tranny specialist can tell you about these transmissions, They can't adjust them very much all they can do is if they can pick faults and keep them running as good as they can.
Late last year i was sick to death of my hard shifts 1st to 2nd, It would not change into 2nd under 30 no matter what i did and it would jump in there, Then 2nd to 3rd started to get ruff, Took it to some tranny guys they took if for a drive and serves it, It was better for the first 2 weeks but it still took to long to go into 2nd, Then into 3rd came back ruff again, Started to bang harder into gears when i was setting off to drive from park.
It then started to kind of slip in gears under harder throttles. I took it away when on the freeway the revs started to jump up 500rpm more then normal till i lost drive and had only 1st and 2nd. Took it back to the guys that serviced the tranny and it was gone, I asked them why didn't you pick anything when i came to you telling you i think it was going, They said we drove it it was fine, There was no fragments dirty fluids nothing to suggest it was going at the time, We can't look into it and adjust anything in it they aren't like that, When they go they loose gears like that.
Now i wasn't impressed that i knew it was going and they didn't, But they say hey we take it out of your car and look into it and then we might see something wrong, But that will cost you a pretty penny.
It did in the end with a new tranny.

i fixed that!!
now it wont engage into the gear.
example, i move it into [D] it doesnt engage. move it down to[1] it engages, then its fine until i move it from [P] into [D] again.

Might be the selector?. My mums old VB wouldn't start in P stopped selecting gear fixed the selector well my brother rewired it and it never had a problem again.

i need help my series 1 auto takes for ever to change from 1st to 2nd and when it does its really hard.
any help would be appreciated

Hi Adam hope your well just want to know did you find out what was the problem with changing gears .and what you did to fix problem . I have the same problem regarding changing from 1/2/3 any information will help. Thanks for your time
