Has anyone fitted a stand up Holden badge to their WM Statesman or Caprice as the only ones I have seen are these below, they don't seem to accommodate the crease up the middle of the bonnet? I realise they are not meant for the WM series but I have seen the dreaded Chev stand up badges fitted to WM's but not Holden.

Back to original question. I think you can fit the badge to a WM without a problem. Having a close look at mine the crease on the bonnet where the badge sits is almost non-existant, the badge sits flat, there is no recess in the base of the badge. There is a rubber seal between the base of the badge and the bonnet. Do you have a hole (about 2 cm) in the bonnet support in front of the bonnet catch (the thing with the big spring)? If not you will need to drill one to allow you to fasten the badge with a nut.
The important thing before drilling is to line up the badge in a spot where is will sit straight up and down, you don't want it facing forward or backward if you know what I mean.
The only thing that might be an issue would be, is there enough slope on the front of the bonnet for the badge to sit straight?

Thanks for your great reply accentstencil but I have a crease right up the centre of the bonnet running front to back unlike your car unless you also have a WM? I would like to have a look at a badge before I bought one to see the angle of the base if there is any. The pictures I have seen all look flat so I don't think I could fit one without it looking poo! I beats me how the Chev badges fit flush as their bases also look flat but are sold on Ebay specifically for WM's!

My bonnet also has a sight crease up the centre. If you have seen Chevy badges on a WM then I'm pretty sure the base would be exactly the same contour as the genuine WH Caprice badge.
When I get a chance tomorrow I will take some close up photos to give you a better idea.

I reckon I could break that off.
Of course you could, I wasn't implying that it couldn't be broken, but it is going to take more than a quick snap. The spring is quite strong.

Here are some close-ups of the emblem.

You can't see it very well but there is a crease going up the centre of the bonnet.

A view from the under side of the bonnet where you need a hole for installing the emblem. The thing in the centre of the hole is the spring.

Thanks again, great photos, I opened my bonnet and had a look, mine is a different set up with a "U" shaped catch instead of your spring but with a hole in the sub panel below it which i presume is how they fit the badges, my crease looks similar to yours, think i will go ahead and buy one thanks to you and your info. Cheers Huw
