My car was cranking but wouldn't turn over, had spark so thought it was the fuel pump.
Just replaced the pump, and car would still not start.
I disconnected the fuel filter and turned the car on, pump primed and pushed fuel out the hose, cranked the car and more fuel came out. So im sure the fuel side is working fine.

Checked for spark and have spark.

But car will still not turn over.

Im stumped for ideas, could it be the injectors? what more things can I check, I checked all the fuses and swapped them over aswell just to be sure but still nothing.

I think the immobiliser shuts the fuel off.

so the car is cranking, when you turn the key to start?, try pressing the unlock button when the key is in the ignition,

also when the ignition is turned to on is the security light still flashing?
is there any fault codes?

its a VT exec, when I crank the car the flashing red light above the mode button goes off, so that means the immobilizer is off doesn't it?

Also some times the car will turn over and get to about 500 revs and then die straight away, but most of the time it wont turn over.

Just checked for error codes, none there.

thats the imobiliser, it happened to me because the key wasnt programed when it was cut. it will run for a second then realise that its not got the code and shut off. did you get a new key or change somthing in the car todo with an imobiliser?

The immobilizer is turning off because the light is turning off, if it was the immobilizer then the red light would stay on. (thats from my understanding anyways)
And I haven't changed ANYTHING in the car at all.

I havn't tried another ecu, but ill pull it out today and take it to work and test it there to rule out anything with the ecu. Maybe I can find a spare one lying around.
Ironic I work for the company that made these things.
