Hey I’m not to sure if it’s my actual head unit itself playing up or a I have a wiring issue… I have a 2008 ve Holden Calais with a stock standard head facia but also have a amp and sub and new speakers (kicker)

Started off with some of the speakers cutting in and out but now the facia randomly turns off and the aircon randomly turns on

Also the hazard lights randomly turn on from time to time

What do you think is the issue

Is the main HVAC harness plug seated correctly? Has a lever that pulls it down and locks it in.

If that’s all good, next isolate the amp and speakers. If the problem persists, well you are looking at a loose facia or faulty facia. Faulty HVAC module perhaps. Once at that point you really need a high end diagnostic tool to poke around the system.

Does the ve have a centre speaker also and how do you get to it?

It’s under the grill. Using a nylon trim tool, gently pry it off. You will not use a screwdriver like a Neanderthal. It will ruin the trim around it.

4” 4ohm speaker is removed from the crash pad by undoing four No2. Phillips head screws.

Then unplug the two pin wiring plug.

Then happy days.
