posting this problem for a friend she is having with her S1 VN
She is using a S2 coil pack and had a problem getting spark from the center pack.
After changing coil packs and module the same problem is still there.....she has changed leads and still same problem.
Has done the engine light check with code 12 showing up.
Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

could be anything in the sparks chain of custody. ignition module, coil packs, leads, spark plugs. could be a bad ignition module.

when you say "changed over" we talking new stuff or other second hand stuff. cause you could be putting other dud stuff back on thus endlessly chasing your tail.

it might not be this either but for shits and giggles clean the brackets and base plate the module is bolted to. the module itself gets its earth through clean bare metal contacts (eliminate corrosion). get some sand paper on the surfaces if you have to, after cleaned give a light sheen of wd40 on a rag.

alternatively if your running the later module you run an earth wire off module pin "K" and either earth it to the body or earth it back into your loom somewhere.

Don't forget the sensor(CAS) on the harmonic balancer.

The CAS won't just affect one coil though.

It will be something on the harness to that coil, whether it's the earth, a bad connection in a plug or even not seated properly.

It wasn't,back in the day, called "Causes All (sorts of) Shite" for nothing.

Anyway fingers crossed that was the cause and the problems don't re-occur.
