Head unit

Just a quick question..
I'm wanting to put a CD player in my VL to replace the orginal head unit.
can anyone who has done this themselves give me a few tips or pointers, i dont really want to fork out $70 for it to be professionally done.

well there is a nice 1cm square plate that is holding the original one in there
all u gotta do is take the bits and pieces of the dash out and WALLAh

done this myself about 2 months ago and only took bout 40 mins byemyself taking my time too
