How is this!? A headlight bong!

I’ve seen chloroform used for headlight restoration. I would knock myself out using that stuff. I’d be laying on the floor with the heat gun burning my beautiful face, or balls or something.

This is allegedly acetone being heated. So simple. Although it might also be a potential bomb in your hand?

What’s people’s thoughts on this?

I don’t currently have a headlight to try it on.

Get the finish right and then a sealant would be the go.

Ballsy trick heating acetone like that.
Seen plenty of videos about using a heat gun to rejuvenate weathered plastics.
I'll let someone else try that experiment... I'll stick with my DA buffs, microfiber and foam pads.

I don't have a death wish, so no chance of trying that

Acetone melts abs plastic, fogging is used by 3d printing to smooth out the print lines to a smooth surface. There is a safe way to do this.

Is this the safe way? Asking for a friend.

The heating element is far enough away from the acetone, and the fan forces any fumes away. Very agricultural and not really safe.

Cold vapour is the slowest but safest. Not ideal for headlights because the back is abs too. Perfect for hot environments, engine bay and interior.

Double boiler if you want the heat with no explosion risk. And then foil to make a funnel and guide the vapour.

Acetone can work pretty quick and screw the headlight. If your willing, best try on a spare set or old damaged set first.
