If the ac works then the heater does not have to.
The ac is a better demister.
Are your heater lines hanging accross the front og the engine like the ones i have seen?
That is not a safe place for them to be. I replaced them and run them around the back of the engine and used brackets to hold them in place, A much neater looking job.
