Hi all, getting a new heater tap and hoses delivered next week as the ones on there are the original ones from factory and it has got a small leak in one hose, going on a big trip soon so time to fix it.
It looks like a pretty easy job but just not sure how the actual tap is connected to the inner guard, doing some searching I believe it is clipped on but how ? it is in such a prick of a place it is hard to see how it is clipped on.
I know I got to bleed the air out after that is easy enough and to be careful taking the hoses off at the firewall.

From memory there's a little bolt on it but whatever it is it's not too hard. Check the new tap for hints on the mounting.
Heater taps have a habbit of blowing up so good idea to change it.

look at part number 9 that is on the inner guard. the heater tap has a bit on it to sit in it.

Now this is a C*** of a job you will take bark off I did.

Now the good news I found out from a tech after I did mine and haven`t tried it yet but will next time.
Leave all the hoses and clamps connected to the heater tap.
Undo all hose clamps at firewall and 2and5 and pull hoses off.
You will see a vaccum line on heater tap take it off.
Pull the whole lot out in one piece put it on a bench you can use this to copy off.
If you have number 13 pipe you can delete it I did.
After you assemble everything put it back in the car you should have 4 hose clamps (2/5/15/15) to do up and the vaccum hose
Hope that helps.
PS the first time I found the hoses on the firewall very hard to get off so cut the hoses long ways down to the copper pipe and peeled open.

When you get the old tap out Rony, see if you can snap it in two - my old one snapped in two when I removed it - they get real brittle over the years.

Yep, every tool box should have a box cutter/stanley knife/snap off blade tool

All fixed up now, I done it exactly how VS_Pete explained, thanks mate great advise, mine was a little bit different at the engine connections as I have LPG so 2 extra hoses coming in there, just a bit of hose cutting but no worries she's
right now.
As Hako pointed out those heater taps are plastic crap, after I got it out I put very little pressure on it and pipes just fell apart in my hands, I was a bit shocked on how brittle it was actually, could have went on me at any time.
Probably the heat from the extractors/exhaust wouldn't help the plastic much either, anyway job done so thanks everyone.
regards
Rony
