I will have a dig through the factory manual for you and have a look if they are the same.

You can download it for yourself from here.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-8JJ0l9vjMjbIzCgTX8u2DFOgJAeoJjV

It has all the panel repair info as well.

You can’t work the document from the link but download the folder as it is. Then open it. And go through the prompts to navigate to the VY service manual.

Was also thinking, if parts get hard to get, what about reaching out to the guy Mighty Car Mods use to get parts from Japan? He was in their Turbos and Temples film and in the videos where they go to Japan to buy cars. Maybe he could use their established means of parts transfers from Japan to get parts to Japan?

Good idea. I don't see much for the VY ute. I did find this for the VU Ute.

From this I read the Utes have heavy duty rear wheel bearings.

Camber change, not exactly sure how that would be done, either a small change in the subframe eye locations or a different suspension arm.

But either way, I take from this you can use the Sedan rear subframe and all you will see is a slight change in rear wheel camber (and for Tokyo drift this might not be a bad thing).

Welcome to the forum.

I've never heard of any differences between the sedan and ute subframes but I'm not 100% certain.

I've changed the thread title so hopefully more people see and can offer advice.
Thank you so much!
I didn't expect you to help me so much!
Maximum thanks!

Also a great video from Hoonigan whem they built theirs over in the states.
They put a GTO subframe in, so shouldn't be too many issues.

Also ute don't have the toe control links, because of the extra suspension travel expected with utes. I hadn't heard about different camber before, but doesn't surprise me. I wondered why the VU took so long to appear after VT sedan/eagon. I surmise they were not happy at first with bringing IRS to the utes, and some tweaking took place.

I wonder if that same change was brought into the VY/VZ model Commodores?

So yes, I think the rear lower shock mount is different between Sedan and Wagon/Ute.

But how much different? (other than it's been turned 90° and sits a bit lower)
