Hallo from Germany,

I am building for my Opel Rekord for Chevy V8.

I once needed the length of the driveshaft by the Commodore VB 5.0 with TH350 trans.

Ideal would be the lengths of all versions, please.

It is important, but only by the V8.

Thanks a lot.....

What diff to you plan to run?

Aussie commodores came out with a Holden V8 not a chevy V8.

I would think that you would be best setting up your car with the diff and engine gear box in place. Measure it and get it fabricated to suit.

yeah, your going to have to balance your tailshaft anyway, simpler to get the car on a truck and down to a tailshaft center.

although the trans would be the same, i am pretty sure that the holden 5.0ltr 90degree engine would be a different length to the chevy 73 degree. so we could give you the measurements, but they most probably would be wrong by an inch or so

also the large flange means? salisbury diff?

AFAIK the Rekord had a diff not that far away from a Borg Warner.

Also i think the Commodores that had the TH trannys had shorter tailshafts.

I would be interested to see your progress so how about posting some pics up of the conversion.

As for the drive shaft even though you have the box mounted to its original location the gearbox's them selves are different lengths from mounting point to the rear of the extenion housing so i doubt it will be a standard drive shaft measurement, your best off getting one made for you particular setup.
