help? re fuses

hey all... noticed the other day that the clock in my car had died so checked the fuse and noticed that it was blown so i put a new one in (same rating) and the thing started sparking and zapping so of course i took it out but does anyone else know whats wrong or do i need an auto sparky


(edit) doesnt matter anymore found a naked wire that was shorting the system... thanks anyway
